Calling all Gleeks, jazz and choir nerds: This free concert might interest you

Whether you’re into Broadway, a cappella choir or jazz, you’ll find something to enjoy at a
free concert from UNT’s College of Music at 8 p.m. Friday in the Murchison Performing Arts Center.

The one-hour event is titled “A Gift of Music,” and includes performances by the Trombone
Choir and A Cappella Choir, as well as an organ work by Marcel Dupré played by Robert Dicks.

Soprano Jennifer Glidden will sing the “Jewel Song” from Gounod’s opera Faust, followed by Jeanine Tesori’s Broadway-style song “The Girl in 14G,” while Czech pianist Jiří Levíček will perform the chamber music of Brahms and a jazz trio work of his own composition.

“It is not often that such a variety of College of Music ensembles and musical styles is
represented in one concert,” said James Scott, dean of the UNT College of Music. “We
invite Denton residents to enjoy this free concert as a gift from the College of Music to our
community.”
